Behind the Scenes at Richard Chai's NY Fashion Week Presentation
As readers of this blog already know, we are very excited about our collaboration with Richard Chai for Fall/Winter 2012. Having announced the launch of the Richard Chai for Palladium capsule collection last week during NY Fashion Week, we'd like to bring the collaboration to life with this behind-the-scenes video shot at Chai's fashion show late last week. The video features music from one of our favorites, a band called White Ring.
The renowned designer put his unique spin on two of our iconic men’s silhouettes which will launch at retail in October 2012. Chai is celebrated for his love of heritage and tailoring, and it shows. He presented a strong collection of functional, utilitarian, minimalist clothing with a ’90s grunge feel that was very true to his aesthetic. His "urban nomad" theme made for an ideal pairing with Palladiums, matching functional looks with richly colored wool felt, herringbone and corduroy fabrics.
As with our previous partnerships with designers like Neil Barrett, Maharishi and others, Chai and his design team have fused their unique vision with our iconic footwear to create something truly remarkable. No surprise, then, that models and scenesters were scrambling for the runway-use-only prototypes after Chai's show!
